Egg Cheese Grilled Sandwich


This egg cheese sandwich is one of the most popular breakfast recipe and  are quick and easy to make. When you are having a time crunch , it's an easy recipe to make and wholesome too. I mean what's more convenient than placing fried egg and delicious filling between bread slices and you have a delicious meal ready in no time. 


INGREDIENTS

  • Eggs - 3
  • Bread slices - 3
  • Salt - to taste
  • Butter - 100 gramsl
  • Cheese slice - 1
  • Cheese cube - 1 (small) grated 
  • Cucumber- 6 slices
  • Tomato - 6 slices

METHOD 

Crack open 3 eggs on a bowl,  add salt to taste and whisk them. Heat a nonstick pan on medium flame , melt butter in it. Pour the egg mixture and prepare an omlette. Remove it into a plate and keep it aside.

Lay the bread slices on a clean surface. Spread butter on one side of 2 of bread slices. On to the first slice place slices of cucumber and tomatoes. Place a slice of cheese on it and cover it another bread slice. Lay a piece of omlette and grate some cheese on it. Cover it with another slice of bread ,apply butter on top.

Heat a grill pan on low flame, melt some butter and place the sandwich .place a plate on it and some weight on top of it ,to achieve grill marks on the sandwich or simply use a sandwich maker. Flip the sandwich after 5 minutes and grill on other side for another 5 minutes.

Remove from the pan , cut into 2 triangles and serve hot with some tomato ketchup.

Balushahi / Badusha

Balushahi is an Indian dessert which has a soft and flaky texture , crisp from outside . In South India, the same is called Badusha.



Prep time  : 30 minutes
Cook Time: 30 - 40 minutes
Resting time : 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • Maida - 2 Cups
  • Ghee - 1/2 Cup
  • Curd - 1/4  Cup
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Water -1/2 Cup
  • Cardamom- 4
  • Saffron- few strands
  • Baking powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking soda -1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Oil / ghee - for frying
  • Lemon juice - few drops
METHOD 

In a large bowl add maida, baking powder, baking soda , salt and ghee and combine well.




Add curd and knead it gently until a soft dough is formed . Do not over knead the dough.
Cover and keep it aside for 20 minutes .



To prepare sugar syrup, Heat a pan on medium heat. Add sugar and water and mix them till sugar dissolves. Add crushed Cardamom and Saffron strands and mix them well. Boil it for 5 minutes.



Take the dough and make small portion from it. Gently roll it between palms to form ball. Flatten the ball slightly and make dent in the center.
Prepare rest of the dough and keep it aside.




Heat oil / ghee in low flame , deep fry them . Stir them occasionally and gently flip and fry on both sides till golden and crisp.




Remove from oil and soak them in sugar syrup for 2 minutes.
Do not soak for too long , as they become soggy .
Garnish with chopped pistachios.

COLD COFFEE


 

Cold coffee is a popular cold


beverage that can be made by using only 4 ingredients. Icecream are added to enhance the taste. The froth on top makes it taste even better. If you like it to be chocolaty,  add some cocoa powder or chocolate syrup while blending .

INGREDIENTS

  • Milk - 400 ml
  • Use full fat milk for creamy version of coffee.
  • Sugar - 2 tablespoon
  • you can increase or decrease the quantity of sugar as per your taste or even skip it coz Icecream contains sugar.
  • coffee powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Use instant coffee powder or brew your coffee .
  • vanilla Icecream- 2 scoops
  • You can increase the quantity to make the coffee thick.


METHOD

Take a blender , add all the ingredients and blend until frothy. Serve chilled in tall glass.

MATAR PANEER

 Matar paneer is a creamy North Indian curry prepared from Matar ( green peas) and Paneer ( Indian cottage cheese). It's a very simple recipe and is a ideal gravy to be served with roti or any other flat breads.

INGREDIENTS 

  • Matar (green peas) - 250 grams
  • Paneer(cottage cheese) - 250 grams
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon 
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon 
  • Green chillies - 2 ( slit)
  • Ginger -1 " julienned 
  • Tomato puree - 3 tomatoes 


  • Onion - 2 ( Finely chopped)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Turmeric powder-1 Teaspoon 
  • Red chilly powder - 2 tablespoon 
  • Coriander powder - 3 tablespoon 
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Kasuri methi - 1 teaspoon 
  • Fresh cream - 2 tablespoon 
METHOD

  • Heat butter in a kadai . Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  • Add the slit green chillies , julienned ginger and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add finely chopped onion and saute for 2 minutes  , close the lid and cook till onion turns soft and transparent. 
  • Add salt to taste .Add freshly pureed tomato and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder,  chilly powder and coriander powder and combine well. Cook till oil separates. 
  • Add the green peas and half cup of water and cook for 5 minutes or until green peas is cooked.
  • Add the paneer cubes and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add crushed kasuri methi . Finish the dish with fresh cream and serve hot with rice or roti.
